Recognition and working method

What I can show and how I work, for landowners, municipalities and heritage agencies.

Recognition

Recognised metal detectorist

I am recognised by agentschap Onroerend Erfgoed. Recognition is needed to search for archaeological finds with a metal detector.

How I work

With permission

I only search with the permission of the owner or user of the land.

Reporting finds

I report my archaeological finds via the Onroerend Erfgoed reporting tool.

Rules and code

I work according to the Onroerenderfgoeddecreet and the Code van Goede Praktijk.

Locations stay private

I never publish exact find spots, only the region.

Permissions

Organisations that have previously given me permission to search on their land.

  • Municipality of Herselt
  • Municipality of Heist-op-den-Berg
  • Municipality of Scherpenheuvel-Zichem
  • Flemish Land Agency (VLM)

Farmers in Blauberg and Averbode

Farmers in Blauberg and Averbode gave me permission to search their land. It is an ongoing relationship: I come back regularly, work around the crops, leave the land as I found it and show them what I find. Many of them find the history of their own field interesting.

Projects

Provincie Antwerpen

Hertberg: 20 years under provincial ownership

Collaboration with the Province of Antwerp, Hertberg domain, on a project marking 20 years of the Hertberg under the province's ownership.

Want to work together or discuss permission?

I am happy to explain how I work carefully and transparently, and to share an overview of my finds and reports.
